perFORM
In perFORM, Woudenberg examines the relationship between the human form and the performer, captured within the context of the self-portrait. This work offers a philosophical reflection on the questions that arise when creating and interpreting images. Where does the boundary lie between the physical reality of the body and the abstraction of form? Who takes the leading role: the creator, the form, or the performer?
Through black-and-white photography, playing with shapes, blurriness, and double exposures, the viewer is invited to see the self-portrait not just as a moment frozen in time but as a metaphysical dialogue. Is the image a reflection of truth, an interpretation, or a fleeting haze? Is it spiritual or purely physical? Each work raises questions about identity, presence, and the nature of perception.
In this series, the lines between creator and subject blur. The human figure transforms into a sculptural form, a medium in which narratives of movement, stillness, and alienation converge. The viewer is left to wonder: is this a body, a frozen action, or an echo?
